Preparing Your Space

Setting up your new pool is easy, but proper preparation is the key to a perfect installation. Here is exactly what you need to get your yard ready for delivery day.

You’ll need:

  1. A solid, completely leveled surface for you pool and pump

  2. Proper outdoor electrical for your pool pump and your heater & chiller.

  3. A clear pathway & access to roll in your pool to your yard

How To Prepare Your Space

Step 1 — Base & Ground Prep
You will need a solid, completely leveled surface for your pool and pump.
We recommend a decomposed granite or pea gravel pad, about 3" thick and roughly 6 in to 1 foot wider in diameter than your pool. It must be well-compacted and perfectly level in all directions.

Step 2 — Pump Placement & Electrical
You will need a level 2' × 3' pad for the filter pump, located within 100 feet of a standard 110v, 15-amp GFCI outdoor outlet.
If you are adding a heater/chiller, a standard 110v unit requires a second dedicated outlet within 15–20 ft. A premium Arctic or Crosswind unit additionally requires a 240v junction box installed by an electrician within 6 ft of the equipment pad.

Step 3 — Clear Delivery Pathway
Ensure there is a clear, wide pathway with gate access to roll the pool from the street into your yard.

What are the electrical requirements?

For the pool filter pump, there needs to be a GFCI 120v 15amp outlet within extension cord distance of your pool equipment. If your outdoor plug isn’t protected by a GFCI we can provide an adapter upon delivery.

For the Standard Heater & Chiller you will need two outlets near the pool pump location. One dedicated 120v 15amp outlet for the pool pump and one dedicated 120v 15amp outlet within 15-20ft of the pool pump location for the heater/chiller.

For a Premium Heater & Chiller you will still need the 120v 15amp outlet for the pool pump and a 240v junction box installed within 6ft of the pool pump location.

For the Heater only you will need two outlets near the pool pump location. One dedicated 120v 15amp outlet for the pool pump and one dedicated 120v 15amp outlet within 15-20ft of the pool pump location for the heater. For our 6ft pool, the heater doesn’t require any outlet.
